Red and Jerry's Betting GuidePari Mutuel WageringPari-Mutuel Wagering simply means "betting among ourselves." This ensures that you will never "bet against the track", you only bet against other players. This form of wagering provides better odds of wagering and better odds of winning! The majority of the money wagered goes right back into the hands of the bettors. Approximately 80.5% of all wagered money is returned to the public. The other 19.5% is distributed to the track, owners of competing greyhounds and the State of Colorado. The number of people who bet on the same greyhound determines the odds, and therefore, the payoff.
